Weekly Report - 2017-06-09 - The Final Weekly Report of the 2016-2017 School Year

My final weekly Friday walk of the school year produced 21 species! I would say that all 21 species on the list are expected this time of year, and all of the species nest either at BSES or nearby. The theme of the morning seemed to be "Birds on Poles in the Parking Lot." When I stepped out of my car, I was triangulated by singing a Song Sparrow, Northern Mockingbird, and Brown-headed Cowbird in the upper parking lot! All three of these birds were perched atop light posts as though they were on territory.

In the afternoon, I ventured out to the trail with my math students. We were treated to great up-close views of a few Tufted Titmice, all of which were drawn to the group by Jack C's excellent whistling impression!

I will pick the weekly reporting back up once we return to school in September. Until then, I look forward to seeing everyone at Trailblazers Summer Camps or out in the field elsewhere!!!
