Weekly Report - 2018-02-02 - Quiet Week!
The weather was gloomy and overcast throughout most mornings this week - Should've taken it as an omen for future birding! Of all our weekly reports this last year, this week had (I'm pretty sure) the lowest species total that I can remember.
My weekly walk was on Friday morning, which only had a total of 8 species. Also, there was light snow during the walk so I couldn't really have my camera out. Combined with the low light of the overcast morning, it was a wash when it came to photography! I was only able to snap one photo:

Eastern Bluebirds were present throughout the week this week with one on the lightpost in the parking lot Friday morning. I also observed up to three individuals on Wednesday morning when I pulled into school that morning and later outside my classroom window. Also notable on Wednesday was one Red-shouldered Hawk flying over Foulk Road. I pulled over to scan the Canada Geese on the baseball field, and the bird flew parallel to the road and landed in the pines across the street. Not a bad bonus bird!
10 species this week:
Canada Goose
Red-shouldered Hawk
American Crow
Carolina Chickadee
Carolina Wren
Eastern Bluebird
American Robin
White-throated Sparrow
Song Sparrow
Northern Cardinal
